ALBERTA WHITETAIL/MULE DEER COMBO HUNT
This hunt is scheduled for the last two weeks of November each year during the peak of the whitetail and mule deer ruts. The hunt is conducted just outside Edmonton in the outfitter's designated areas of the "farm belt" or what is commonly referred to as the "alfalfa belt" that runs across the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba at specific latitudes that are prime for the farming of alfalfa and other crops nutritious to deer and wildlife. In this latitude, there are very few people, lots of deer, bountiful nutritious agricultural food sources and relatively light hunting pressure which translates to really big bucks. Hunters are lodged in the outfitter's camp house in Alberta Beach, Alberta, Canada, with daily showers, hot meals and laundry service available. Only four hunters per year, two in the first hunt and two in the second hunt, so call now if you have any interest or want more details.
The average whitetail buck taken on this hunt is 170 inches, although many 180, 190 and 200 class bucks have been taken in the past. Because hunters see so many deer on this hunt, they need to be patient and wait for a trophy class buck vice shooting the first "nice" deer seen. Since the guiding is 1 X 1, and the guides are experienced in sizing up bucks, the best advice on this hunt is to "shoot" when the guide gives the OK!
The average mule deer buck taken on this hunt is 170 inches, although many 180 and 190 bucks have been taken in the past.
